Cohesin cleavage is insufficient for centriole disengagement in Drosophila

چکیده
distinct from whole mature pollen [11] is consistent with our finding that miRNAs do not appear to act across the vegetative/sperm cell interface. Our data clearly reveal the presence of different and cell-autonomous differences in miRNA activity in the mature pollen grain of Arabidopsis. They further highlight the importance of promoter specificity when using amiRs to target mRNAs in rapidly dividing and differentiating systems, and the caution required when interpreting cell-to-cell transfer data from amiR experiments.

The linking of plate tectonics and evolutionary divergence
Whereas cohesin cleavage alone did not produce any detectable effects on engaged centrioles, Cdk inhibition, in contrast, was sufficient to induce centriole disengagement even in the absence of proper chromosome disjunction. Upon p27 injection, centriole disengagement was observed with a similar kinetics to the disengagement observed in the TEV+p27 experiments (Figure 1). Our previous experimen...
متن کاملCentrosomal Aki1 and cohesin function in separase-regulated centriole disengagement
Sister chromatid separation at anaphase is triggered by cleavage of the cohesin subunit Scc1, which is mediated by separase. Centriole disengagement also requires separase. This dual role of separase permits concurrent control of these events for accurate metaphase to anaphase transition. Although the molecular mechanism underlying sister chromatid cohesion has been clarified, that of centriole...
متن کاملCentriole Engagement: It’s Not Just Cohesin Any More
The belief that cohesin complexes link mother to daughter centrioles has received substantial experimental support. New studies challenge the primacy of cohesin in centriole engagement and provide a more nuanced view into the mechanisms for centriole disengagement in anaphase.
متن کاملPolo kinase and separase regulate the mitotic licensing of centriole duplication in human cells.
It has been proposed that separase-dependent centriole disengagement at anaphase licenses centrosomes for duplication in the next cell cycle. Here we test whether such a mechanism exists in intact human cells. Loss of separase blocked centriole disengagement during mitotic exit and delayed assembly of new centrioles during the following S phase; however, most engagements were eventually dissolv...
متن کاملMeiotic HORMA domain proteins prevent untimely centriole disengagement during Caenorhabditis elegans spermatocyte meiosis.
In many species where oocytes lack centrosomes, sperm contribute both genetic material and centriole(s) to the zygote. Correct centriole organization during male meiosis is critical to guarantee a normal bipolar mitotic spindle in the zygote. During Caenorhabditis elegans male meiosis, centrioles normally undergo two rounds of duplication, resulting in haploid sperm each containing a single tig...
